Any blank paper, journal, or even personal digital writing space will do. Make one for yourself and document your own book pathway!
For each book journal entry,
Write your thoughts and draw a picture:
Write a short entry (at least one paragraph for each grade level, e.g., 3rd graders write 3 paragraphs) and make an illustration that connects to the book.
Include the following:
Your name and date
Book title and author
A problem and how it is solved (or not solved).
Something important you learned from the book (a life lesson, connection, or theme).
You can also add other books to your journal if they match the same reading level (the same “mile”) as your milestone book. You can ask your teacher or librarian to help you find books that match your level.
Think of how amazing it will be to see your entries over the years if you keep up with your drawings and ideas about books. You will have a personal collection of your art and thoughts as you become more and more well-read. 💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡
